The Model Forest of Western Macedonia is now an official partner of the European program SMURF (Sustainable Management Models and Value Chains for Small Forests), funded by Horizon Europe. This important collaboration is a unique opportunity to strengthen the sustainability of our forests and promote innovative solutions for small forest owners in our region. Through our participation, we will actively contribute to the development of new organizational and business models, with a focus on Close-to-Nature Forestry (CNS)
practices and the evaluation of ecosystem services. Our goal is to improve the economic performance of forest operations while ensuring the protection of our natural environment and promoting sustainable management practices. Your participation and engagement in this process are crucial to the success of this effort.
